Day 162 - Tuesday, September 21, 2021

I never realized how much a catalytic converter cost 💵  💵 💵 . I spent most of the evening last night filling police reports and insurance claims. Then this am, calling Subaru dealers to order parts and get an appointment to have the work done… 🤯🤬😡🥵. It’s baffles me how our economy is still paralyzed by the pandemic - how it’s blaming everything on the pandemic rather. Automotive parts are out of stock or on back order and a service appointment opening at a dealer is three weeks out?

Today we are hiking from Game Commission Road, Route 183 (1205.8 NoBo) to PA 645 (1194.0 NoBo) for a total of 11.8 miles.

We finally began hiking at 10:30 am.

See that trailhead marker?  That’s all we ask for at every parking area 😉.

View from Round Head.

Just 2 more days of rocks 🙏🏻.

Sections of trail are relocated at times due to over use and this area may need a rest from hikers and require reforestation 🌲 .

Some easier hiking today.

I’m not sure these are going to make the remaining miles? Good thing I have other pairs. I may wear my Ultra 3’s tomorrow 🤗.

Site of the Fort Dietrich Snyder monument.

We finished hiking at 4:30 pm.

Appalachian Trail Countdown:
Total trail miles: 2025.4 miles
Trail miles left to go: 167.7 miles

Till next time... Happy Hiking  🥾

😋

“Acts of generosity in this wild and primitive setting…where basic amenities…are intentionally absent–are often received in a heightened sense of wonder and gratitude by hikers. These acts of generosity are referred to as “trail magic.”

  1. I can’t believe some rotten bastards removed your catalytic converter and stole it!!! 🤬 Did the police say if that has ever happened before??
