Day 154 - Monday, September 13, 2021
We stayed an additional night at Turtle Power’s which resulted in a 2 hour drive back to NJ for our hike today. I didn’t enjoy getting up at 4:00 am π΅π« but we’re slack packing in a local hotel tonight to be closer to the trail ππ».
We came upon this dead Eastern Copperhead laying in the Millbrook-Blairtown Road π³π€. It was every bit of 3 feet long.
Today’s hike will continue in NJ from Sunrise Mountain Road (1324.9 NoBo) to Camp Road (1307.0 NoBo) equaling 17.9 miles.
We hit a significant milestone with today’s hike: we exceeded 1900 trail miles (1912.4 miles) and with yesterday’s hike we have less than 300 miles to go (298.6 miles) ππ
We began hiking at 8:00 am.

“Acts of generosity in this wild and primitive setting…where basic amenities…are intentionally absent–are often received in a heightened sense of wonder and gratitude by hikers. These acts of generosity are referred to as “trail magic.”
