Day 152 - Saturday, September 11, 2021

    πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ   September 11, 2001  πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Today marks the 20th anniversary of 911. I’ll never forget where I was and watching the second plane flying into the 2 WTC Tower and the subsequent collapse of both towers.  But I will also never forget how this horrible terrorist attack brought our Country together… We Will Never Forget!

We are returning to New Jersey to resume hiking SoBo where we left off last February due to the Nor’easter that forced us to flip down to Harpers Ferry, WV. Today’s hike will continue in NJ from County Road 565, Glenwood, NJ (1355.8 NoBo) to Greenville Road, County 519 (1342.0 NoBo) equaling 13.8 miles

We began hiking at 9:00 am.

And look who’s back to join us…it’s Daniel “Two Legs”. He’s been upgraded since this is the 2nd time he joined us. Welcome back “Two Legs”, try and keep up this time πŸ˜‚.

Step into my web…

This fence ladder has been unused for a while.

Not a bad day for a “walk in the woods”.

Another elevated boardwalk section.

“What do you mean you don’t have any pop tarts “…

Hiking around the Walkill Preserve.

What’s that saying… a picture speaks 1000 words πŸ₯΄.

One last rock scramble to get to the car… sure why not πŸ₯΅?

We finished hiking at 3:45 pm… was a good day to be on the trail. When you coming back “Chief” πŸ˜‰ ?

Till next time... Happy Hiking  πŸ₯Ύ

πŸ˜‹

“Acts of generosity in this wild and primitive setting…where basic amenities…are intentionally absent–are often received in a heightened sense of wonder and gratitude by hikers. These acts of generosity are referred to as “trail magic.”
