Day 108 - Tuesday, July 20, 2021
Day 108, take 3 π¬.
Got to shelter about 5:30 pm. Took us longer than expected due to trail conditions: steep ascents/decents over mud and slippery wet rocks.
We’ve made all our reservations for the Huts & Lean-to’s to get us through Mt. Washington so we’re committed to these dates. We are hiking today, with the exception of a nuclear Holocaust that could deter our plans π
So today’s hike will be part of a 3 day/2 night excursion continuing from Franconia Notch (1820.0 NoBo) to RR Tracks, parking, Ethan Pond Trail (1847.4) for a total of 27.4 miles. As I previously mentioned we are hiking this SoBo.
Today we are hiking to the Guyout Shelter (1835.8 NoBo) equaling 11.6 miles. We began hiking at 8:30 under partly sunny skies.
Got to shelter about 5:30 pm. Took us longer than expected due to trail conditions: steep ascents/decents over mud and slippery wet rocks.
Wondering what tomorrow will bring….
Till next time... Happy Hiking π₯Ύ

“Acts of generosity in this wild and primitive setting…where basic amenities…are intentionally absent–are often received in a heightened sense of wonder and gratitude by hikers. These acts of generosity are referred to as “trail magic.”
